05 Apr The 2022 Yorkshire Evening Post Oliver Award Winners
On Monday 28th March 2022, over 400 guests celebrated the Leeds food and drink scene at the Queen’s Hotel in Leeds. This was to be the 13th Oliver Awards hosted by the Yorkshire Evening Post but the first since the Pandemic; a theme of the resilience of the hospitality industry was reflected in many acceptance speeches. New categories this year included “Best Takeaway Offering”, “Best Use of Outdoor Space” and the “Sustainability Award”. The excitement was palpable and reactions tumultuous but even a memorable victory parade from “Best Speciality” winners, Tharavadu could not faze legendary hosting veteran, Harry Gration.
Judging this year’s talent were YEP’s wine writer, Christine Austin; YEP Business and Lifestyle reporter, Abby Maclure and food blogger Stanley Dru. Here are their final decisions for the winners of the 2022 Yorkshire Evening Post Oliver Awards:

Best Customer Service: Kuala Lumpur Cafe
Newcomer of the Year: CORA
Best Takeaway Offering: Bomba Paella & Tapas
