This was to be the 13th Oliver Awards hosted by the Yorkshire Evening Post but the first since the Pandemic; a theme of the resilience of the hospitality industry was reflected in many acceptance speeches. New categories this year included “Best Takeaway Offering”, “Best Use of Outdoor Space” and the “Sustainability Award”. The excitement was palpable and reactions tumultuous but even a memorable victory parade from “Best Speciality” winners, Tharavadu could not faze legendary hosting veteran, Harry Gration.
